Axel Christian Georg, Prince of Denmark and Iceland (12 August 1888, Copenhagen – 14 July 1964, Copenhagen) was a Danish and Icelandic prince.

Prince Axel was the second son of Prince Valdemar of Denmark and his wife, Princess Marie d'Orléans.

Marriage and issue

On 22 May 1919, he married Princess Margaretha of Sweden, his first cousin once removed and the eldest daughter of Prince Carl, Duke of Västergötland, in Stockholm. They had two sons:

Prince Axel was a member of the International Olympic Committee in 1932 and sometime director of Scandinavian Airlines System. From 1937 until his death he was chairman of the board (and until 1953 also managing director) of the East Asiatic Company, succeeding the company's founder Hans Niels Andersen.
